Pretty Dainty

Here's a quick share.

Another bag ensemble I put together. This time I placed different sentiments on each one.

I wanted a clean and fresh look so I kept the design simple by embossing and adding just the right amount of color. The best part is I was able to use these pretty ribbons I've been keeping in my stash for the longest time.

Have a blessed Sunday everyone!

Over The Top

Ok guys! It's been almost a week and I'm pretty sure you've come up with some smart guesses on what my special project is. But wait a minute...I think I'll keep you guys hangin' just a wee bit longer by telling you how I stumbled upon this clever creation.

Around three weeks ago my sorority sister Bing-Bing texted and asked me to put together a souvenir to be given to friends and relatives on her hubby's 50th. She emailed me all the details she wanted incorporated in the design which facilitated in getting my creative juices going. Through the amazing wonders of technology we were able to brainstorm and refine the initial bookmark design I made without having to see each other in person and finally came up with...

stainless steel bookmarks with the image of an Arapaima and Arcus's name in blue on them.

As the bookmarks were on their way to being mass produced in our factory I found myself toying with the idea of incorporating our company's product with my papercrafting. After several trials and errors, look at the result...

I never thought I could pull it off and yet, I did!

By combining soft materials such as felt and paper with cold hard metal the outcome is gentler and more delicate.

Am planning to make these metal bookmarks in brass and copper. So, watch out for them. Kindly email me at jtons1203@yahoo.com if you're interested in getting a hold of some for your personal projects.

What Could It Be?

Today I am going to give you a little teaser on a project I've been busy developing since last week.

Here is a butterfly layered with smaller butterflies made from two different shades of pink felt and embllished with rhinestones which I sewed onto a piece of pretty paper.

Whatcha think it is?

Awrightee! Here's a teeny weeny hint for you guys: It will always help you find your place.

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Don't forget to drop by again to find out what it is =)

A Little Bit of This & A Little Bit of That

Hi there friends! Here's something I made yesterday.

It's a mishmash of a lot of things just like the many popular mash-up songs of New Directions from the much watched TV show Glee.

It uses four designer papers of different colors and patterns.

Straight lines, squiggly lines, triangles and curves can be found here, too.

Numerous components and yet they work. Ain't that something?!

Finishing Touches

It's Sunday evening. The weekend is almost over. Can't believe it went by really fast. Friday night was spent in St. Pedro Poveda College. My husband and I attended the induction ceremonies for all the officers of Poveda Parent Association for the school year 2010-2011. This year my husband and I are fortunate enough to be the couple president for 2nd Year D, my daughter's class. I really enjoy being involve in my children's respective schools because it gives me an opportunity to get to know their teachers better and become friends with my co-parents. On Saturday, I played 2.5 hours of badminton after toiling in my craft area all morning. The evening was then spent drinking, eating and laughing with college friends. And today, after Sunday mass, the family watched the much awaited and talked about movie "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse".

And so, I can't think of anything more wonderful to cap off the weekend than to share with all of you what I came up with last Saturday.

I wanted to make sure that my friend will be superly impressed with my gift. So, I wrapped the purse & card ensemble I made for her with clear cellophane; tied it with a hot pink ribbon and attached a sweet little gift tag I made to finish off the whole package.

Now, I am ready to hit the sack. Can't wait to find out what the week ahead will bring. Goodnight everyone!

Cards in a Bag

One of my badminton buddies will be celebrating her birthday and I thought I'd make something special for her. OMG! Can't believe how this bag and card ensemble turned out...simply adorable!!!

The monogrammed cards fit perfectly in this coordinating hand purse. The tutorial was given to me by my ever so talented friend, Kay. Please check out her blog, Creations on Paper, if you would like to avail of it.

You might notice that my version is a bit different from hers. I placed a silk ribbon and embellished it with a metal button for it's handle instead of using elongated buttons. Now, my friend can wear it as a wristlet purse.

That's all for now folks. Have a great weekend!
