I know it's is done and over with, but I can't pass up not sharing with you presents I gave to my mom, mother-in-law and all the other moms in my life who've chosen this very fulfilling vocation called motherhood on Mother's Day.
Besides my usual paper creations, this year I included special treats from my kitchen to give to these amazing women.
Since I've been trying to improve my baking skills lately I decided to make these delectable Mini Citrus Rum Cakes with Cream Cheese Glaze. The recipe is very straightforward which made it very easy to follow. Most importantly I had all the ingredients on hand.
I then placed each one inside a golden laminated box which I tied with abacca twine along with my very own handmade tag.
They are like little treasure chests, precious like the recipients.

In keeping with Alexis' spa themed party her guests beauty got to bring home some beauty essentials that were tucked inside these tumbler bags I made.
Check out the pampering goodies they got...
Seeing the girls' pretty smiles made putting these favors together truly worthwhile.

{Happy} Sweet Sixteen
Guys, look at the invites I made for my daughter's sleepover spa party.
Alexis, a Pisces, was born on February 22, 1995. Her birthstone is Amethyst. It is associated with spirituality, wisdom, sobriety, and security. It is purple in color which happens to be my sweetie's favorite.
I decided to use Stampin' Up's Elegant Eggplant and Green Galore cardstocks as the base for these crisscross invitations. And the hearts from the coordinating designer papers add just the right amount of cuteness for both the invites and favor bags befitting a young lady's sweet sixteen party.
Drop by again later this week to see more of Alexis' S.O.S. party.

Not Necessarily
Red. Green. Gold.
These are the colors commonly associated with the Yuletide Season. But you know me; always wanting to be different. So, I thought to myself, "Why not pink?"
So, here's what a Pink Christmas looks like.

A glassine bag all dolled up with a tag, a ribbon and a glitterized mini wooden clothespin.

Luveeeet!!!
And if you feel the same please feel free to leave a comment. Your suggestions are most welcome as well.
Happy Monday!

Sparkles and Twinkles Holiday Kits
Hi crafting peeps! How's everybody? Well, I've been busy filling in the Christmas orders I've been getting and I have had no time to write in my blog. So sorry =( But please check out some of my for sale creations on Paperworks' Facebook page. Items are available in limited quantity so hurry up and place your orders.
My recent project are packaging kits that you can easily assemble and use for all your Christmas gift wrapping.

Each kit is filled with lots of sparkling goodies that you can put together or use separately. Here's a sample on how you can add a bit of twinkling personality to your gifts.

Store bought gifts are made more special because a little of your time and effort went into them and the recipient will surely take note of this.

Five Little Pumpkins Sitting On A Gate

Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate,
The first one said,
"Oh my, it's getting late."
The second one said,
"But we don't care."
The third one said,
"I see witches in the air."
The fourth one said,
"Let's run, and run, and run."
The fifth one said,
"Get ready for some fun."
Then whoosh went the wind,
and out went the lights,
And five little pumpkins rolled out of sight!

Now, let's get on with my second halloween offering! They are tags filled with spooky and yet funny halloween elements.
These tags are so versatile. They can turn plain glassine bags into these...
Inside each bag are two ordinary lollies, but with some orange curling ribbons and my ghoulie-goblin tags they become very extra special.
These packet of goodies will surely make anyone with a sweet tooth happy.

Yellow Bears
Good evening folks! I just can't resist sharing these with you before I go to bed.

As I was looking through my stash of embellishments earlier, I found these cute little yellow bears I bought from way back when.

I finally found a way to make use of them.

With some leftover designer papers from a previous project, I whipped up these tags.
Well, that's it for now. If you'd like to avail or inquire about any of my paper creations please don't hesitate to email me at jtons1203@yahoo.com.
Goodnight!

Tags On Hand
It's my third grader's first quarter exams and for some unfathomable reason my life goes on hold whenever they come around. I automatically go on panic mode every time. I crazily start printing reviewers like there's no tomorrow. I read up on all his subjects as if I am the one who will be taking the exams. I've never even studied this much when I myself was going to school!!!
Why do I do this to myself? This is my third round of grade school, fourth including mine, yet I still get frazzled.
The answer dawns on me while I write this entry. Enzo is my youngest son; my baby. He is the last child I will have. I see how fast he is growing and soon enough I will no longer be the #1 person in his life. So, I tightly hold on to anything that will anchor him to me. If it means watching his fave show so I can differentiate Phineas from Ferb or listen to Justin Bieber call his "Baby, Baby" or learn the intricacies of each "Bionicles" or drive myself crazy during exam week...then count me in.
I do all these in preparation for the time that he won't need or want me around so much, more so for myself than his.
Now, before I leave, I'd like to show you a way on how I keep myself prepared for those unscheduled and unexpected occasions.
I keep a stack of assorted gift tags on hand that will match any gift wrapping paper to fit any given occasion.

Gotta go! It's late and I need to wake up early tomorrow to see the kids off to school. Nyt!

Finishing Touches
It's Sunday evening. The weekend is almost over. Can't believe it went by really fast. Friday night was spent in St. Pedro Poveda College. My husband and I attended the induction ceremonies for all the officers of Poveda Parent Association for the school year 2010-2011. This year my husband and I are fortunate enough to be the couple president for 2nd Year D, my daughter's class. I really enjoy being involve in my children's respective schools because it gives me an opportunity to get to know their teachers better and become friends with my co-parents. On Saturday, I played 2.5 hours of badminton after toiling in my craft area all morning. The evening was then spent drinking, eating and laughing with college friends. And today, after Sunday mass, the family watched the much awaited and talked about movie "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse".
And so, I can't think of anything more wonderful to cap off the weekend than to share with all of you what I came up with last Saturday.

I wanted to make sure that my friend will be superly impressed with my gift. So, I wrapped the purse & card ensemble I made for her with clear cellophane; tied it with a hot pink ribbon and attached a sweet little gift tag I made to finish off the whole package.

Now, I am ready to hit the sack. Can't wait to find out what the week ahead will bring. Goodnight everyone!
