S.O.S. | What Went Down

Hi everyone! Take a look at what went down during Alexis' SleepOver Spa Party.

First, the girls were treated to a home cooked meal for dinner in our formal dining room. My cousin Jek helped me dress up the table. She has a knack for table setting.

The birthday girl.

The balloon towers were from the party of my friend's daughter the night before.

The Menu: My Creamy Chicken Pesto Pasta & Salpicao, Manang Marlyn's Chicken Ala King with my buttered bread cups and Monsee's breadsticks.

For dessert, the girls had French macarons from Bizu and the cupcakes I baked. In lieu of a cake, I used the cupcake tier my sister Teena sent all the way from New Jersey to make a cupcake tower. In keeping with the spa theme, I added a nail polish bottle in between each cupcake to liven it up.

Afterwards the girls headed on to....

where they were greeted with this scene.

More goodies for the girls to bring home.

Now, here's the best part of the night...

Each girl was treated to a "Pampered Hands and Feet Treatment" by Spaworks Mobilespa owned and operated by another good friend.

The girls were all smiles and felt simply divine the whole evening, but most importantly my sweet Alexis was very very happy.

S.O.S | In The Bag

In keeping with Alexis' spa themed party her guests beauty got to bring home some beauty essentials that were tucked inside these tumbler bags I made.

Check out the pampering goodies they got...

nail polish in bright bold colors

travel-size nail files

mini hand sanitizers & holders

and grooming kits

Seeing the girls' pretty smiles made putting these favors together truly worthwhile.

Edit: Thank you so much to my sister, Teena,
for providing the Bath and Body products
and all the other goodies. Love ya!

A Fufulicious Affair

After months of planning and several visits to the center of the universe (wink! wink!), Andie's 1st birthday party finally arrived. The safari themed party was aptly held in Grilla last Sunday. There was an overflowing of food and BBZ.

Of course Paperworks was there to join in on the fun.

Here I am explaining to the kiddos how to design their scrapbook pages for Andie.

The Gift Of Songs

Hello there! Take a look at what I was asked to make for a very special lady. She's the mom of my youngest son's godmother, Maan, who celebrated her celebrated her 79th birthday last May 31 which was also my hubby's special day.

Maan coordinated with me while she was down-under, where she resides with her hubby, to make something simple, but very meaningful to give to Tita Mely's guests during her dinner party.

So, I compiled all of Tita Mely's favorite songs in a compact disc.

Some might think CD's are obsolete since MP3's are now the current rage; however, it makes a whole lot of difference knowing that these discs were made and given out of love.

This is what each guest took home with them.

And what a coincidence! The colors I used for the CD holders matched the icing of Tita's cookie cake.

Glittered Guitar

Hello friends! Thought I'd share with you today how I made the cover of the birthday scrapbook of Toni. In keeping with the Hannah Montana theme of the party I decided to go down the glittery path. As everyone knows Hannah is a rocker chick therefore a guitar is never far away from her.

Impressive? Well, I can't take all the credit. My very artistic daughter was the one responsible for drawing the guitar which I traced on a piece of cardboard I saw lying around the house and cut it with my SU! exacto knife.

Afterwards I colored the guitar purple with my marker.

I then took my Tombow and used the broad tip to spread glue on the colored side. Next, I sprinkled pearly white glitter all over the top of the cutout making sure to cover all the space.

I did the same thing with the different size stars I made, but this time I used purple, pink, silver & gold glitter.

When all the components were ready for assembling I proceeded to put them together. Once I found the perfect layout I again grabbed my ever reliable Tombow glue and stuck each piece on the front cover of the 8 in. x 11 in. scrapbook.

Now, how cool is that!!!

A Hannah Montana Scrappin' Party

Hello there everyone! Can you guys believe it's June already? Whew!!! That was fast. Summer vacation ends for most of the children in the Philippines on Monday, June 7, my youngest included. Lights out at 9 starts in our home tonight. I'm sure am gonna hear lots of whinning. Exciting...sigh!

Last week was jam-packed. It was a flurry of activity one right after the other that's why I wasn't able to put up this post right away. I suppose it's a small price to pay for having a grand vacation the week prior.

Today, I proudly share with you the very successful scrapbooking party Paperworks hosted for the 7th birthday celebration of Toni last May 29. She had a Hannah Montana theme going on wherein most of the girls came in dressed like their idol Hannah.

The kids really enjoyed making their scrapbook pages . They were all very imaginative in coming up with their own original layouts complete with a personal dedication to Toni. Some really got into their artistic zone and made extra pages for them to take home.

Take note: the boys got into the groove of things as well.

After collecting all the children's artworks, I chose 4 masterpieces among the pile and declared them winners. Each got a special award for being creative. I just loved seeing their happy and proud faces as they came up to receive their prizes.

At the end of the party I compiled all the scrapbook pages and bound them in a special album made specially for the birthday girl. The look on Toni's face as she browsed through it was priceless!

Handy and Dandy

Hey there! It's been very hectic these past couple of weeks here. March was spent reviewing the kids for their finals, visiting my uncle in the hospital who was recently diagnosed with Stage IV lung & liver cancer, and the usual errands that I need to attend to everyday to keep our household running smoothly. However, this year, March brought in something very special to us. My eldest son, Tonito, graduated from high school. And, to celebrate this momentous occasion we had a simple thanksgiving dinner in our home. Of course, I couldn't pass up the chance of putting together something from my stash for our guests to bring home and I came up with these....

Can you guess what they are?

Mini post-it key chains!!!

Pretty clever, huh?! Here's how I came up with them. First and foremost, I wanted them to be economical. Secondly, they had to be useful. Lastly, I wanted them to be displayed while at use so others may appreciate them as well. They were such a hit at the party!

Well, gotta go for now. Hope you have an enjoyable long weekend (today is "Araw ng Kagitingan") with the people you love the most.
