For The Boys

Hello peeps! How are you all doing? I just wanted to pop in with a quick share. Don't want you guys thinking I've been slacking off with my paper crafting. If you recall, I made a carry along mini brag book for my soon-to-arrive niece, a couple of posts back. Now, here's the male version of it...

{Happy} Father's Day

Hey everyone!

Before I start babbling about my project today, I would like to give a big HAPPY FATHER'S DAY shout out to my loving dad, Luis, and also to the father of my three wonderful children, Tonyboy. Thank you for your love, patience, understanding and time. Your dedication to your respective children is immense. I salute and love you both very much!

I am sure you've noticed that I don't make a lot of masculine cards. Whenever I attempt to make one I get stumped.

However, I've decided to venture out of my comfort zone and hone my skills even if it takes a whole day to come up with one note worthy card for a man. Take not: I used the word man and not boy.

As I sat down to conceptualize my design, the one thing that popped in my head that men in general have a great interest on besides women is cars. With that in mind I went ahead and die cut a car image on foam to be used as the focal point for my card.

Yes, it took me longer than usual to put this card together, but it's all worth it because I made it for the very first special man in my life...and that's you, Dad!

Money {Gift} Holders

Hello blog peeps! I've been feeling yucky the past days due to my allergic rhinitis & itchy throat. It didn't help much that I also had to care for my youngest who was battling the same things plus a high fever. Uuuggghhh!

So, my share today is actually something I came up weeks prior.

Money holders is what they are.

Perhaps you've seen similar ones out there, but I've added something to my design which I think is quite ingenious.

I added a unique sticker label at the back where the names of the recipient and giver can be written in.

Your gift of money will surely be more appreciated wrapped in one of these.

Happy weekend everyone!

Neanderthal No More

Men are often depicted as untidy, unorganized and unappreciative of the finer things in life. However, many of you will agree with me that most of the male population nowadays do not subscribe to this kind of living any longer. On the contrary, they have become as vain as the women. Just look at all the ads on the telly on all sorts of skin and body products that are specifically designed for them. Mind boggling indeed!

I figured this change in their self image should transcend in their work life. Hence, I came up with a notepad with stripes and argyle design.

It is very useful and yet attractively masculine enough to be seen atop any man's desk.

A nice and practical gift for the men in your life for any occasion.

When A Plan Finally Comes Together

Much like this card I made, not everything we do comes out exactly the way we plan them to be. I wanted to make a card using the SU! Extreme Skateboard stamp set for two special people I know who are totally into skateboarding. However, when I sat down and started working on my ideas nothing seemed to work. Everything felt wrong from the layout to the colors I was using. It was indeed very frustrating! So, what does a girl do in times like these? Take a breather and SURF the net!!!

After a few clicks I found my inspiration from
Rachel Brumley. Although she used a different stamp set, I knew the colors she used will capture the look I was going for in my card.

I really love how this card turned out. One can feel the carefree atittude of the skater as he is about to land on solid ground.

I do hope that the boys getting these will like them as well. Bye for now guys! Hope you have a wonderful week.
